The Snow is Coming - 5 Reasons I Hate The Snow

I’m dreading the day when I wake up and look out my office window and it looks like this picture. I hate the snow and I don’t know why I was born and raised in an area where the snow is going to come whether we like it or not.
I realize the reason it snows is because of the distance we are from the sun and the tilt of the earth and all that… I just don’t like that I will have to move to avoid it. Why can’t we get a snowfall every other year… or better yet every 5-10 years? The cons out weigh the pros of snows for me!
Wet Socks - No matter how delicatly you try to take your boots off without accedently stepping in the bits that are on the matt… my socks always seem to get soaked. This in turn makes my feet freezing cold. That is FREEZING cold feet for up to 5 months… I HATE COLD FEET!
Shoveling - I myself am lucky as far as clearing the snow from the drive way is concerned. I work from home so I’m not the poor sap who has to get up 2 hours early after a huge snow fall to clear a huge driveway so that I can get to work on time. NO MATTER how hard you try the plow is going to come by and give you another hour of HARD crunchy slushy snow to remove. UGH!!!
Slush - The snow doesn’t always stay cute and white and fluffy. After a while and TONS of salt distributed on the road it turns into this gray/brown slush that always manages to get up the back of your jeans and into your boots which will eventually bring us back to #1 WET SOCKS!
Slipping - Snow likes to play this trick called “HIDE THE ICE”. After the snow melts a bit and gets a nice puddle going it will freeze and turn to ice and then it will snow and HIDE said ice so that innocent by standers get it in the rear… LITERALLY.
Windshield Crud - I’m not sure if this one is universal for all places with snow but here in Ontario when driving in the winter they put salt and sand on the road. The result causes your windshield when driving to turn a nice brown or white and not the normal clear for seeing where you are going. I call this Windshield Crud… this stuff makes it so you have to have a gallon (at least) of windsheild washer fluid just to go to the corner to get the mail. Long trips are out unless you have a spare jug of fluid in the trunk. This all equals EXTRA DRIVING EXPENSES!

What Would You Do with a Million Dollars?

What would I do with a Million dollars? I couldn’t say for sure… I’ve never been lucky. I’ve never really won anything of real value. I have only scratched a few lottery tickets and the most I’ve gotten is $100 over 5 tickets….
I’d be sure to invest my money and find someone who can help me make it last longer and grow over time. I would want more money so that I can give some back. There are so many people in the world who have nothing (as they say in parts of england “have nowt”). No kid should have to worry about their parents money problems and no parent should worry about feeding their babies! It seems like an impossible feat and I don’t plan on curing world hunger with my meer million.
I’d also buy new clothes…. such a girlie thing to say but I haven’t SPLURGED on fashion in a few years…. sad I know! I feel like I’m not up to par style wise.
I’d buy a small affordable (possibly hybrid) car. Something good on gas and not so bad on the environment. At the same time I’d like a bike so that I can peddle to the places near me.
I’d buy a small condo or townhouse of my own so I’m not renting. And a puppy to go in that house!
Last but not least I would Travel. Its one of those things that I regret not doing more of! After college I started working right away! After highschool I went right to college…. I don’t even have a passport! Need to see the world before I’m too old to do it!
More important to what I want to do with a Million Dollars I’m interested in WHAT YOU WOULD DO? So post a comment or send me a tweet! Everyone is different and I want to know your thoughts on what you would do if a million dollars was buring your pocket!

Forum “Nazis” and How They Abuse Power

SO I’ve been around the net A LOT! I spend a good portion of my work day online. Part of what I do REQUIRES that I join forums and interact with the members on a regular basis.
I’ve noticed lately that I have been having a real hard time with forum administrators… and I’m not the only one! A lot of people that I have been talking to have mentioned that threads and topics that they have posted have disappeared with no explanation.
Is this a violation of our freedom of speech? Or is it because we are on the internet there is no way for this right to be enforced?
I feel like anyone who starts a forum is doing so for the power… no not really but couldn’t that be a part of it? Why are these people so scared to let an honest discussion take place? You may not like what other people have to say but they are still thinking it. WE WOULD ALL DISSAGREE WITH MOST OF WHAT PEOPLE REALLY BELIEVE BUT NEVER SPEAK OUT LOUD!
People are jaded online… they think that everyone is trying to scam everyone else instead of just taking what they say for what it is… a thought in time that MAY or may not be up for disscussion. IF you don’t agree dont reply… or do to that effect…
Sorry I got ranty there at the end but this is how I feel!
